Comment from Digg: Perseverance amid failure is strength that any inventor must possess. Only through hardship and much effort do we see results of value. To be a person of substance, we should not take the short-cut to create things or products. Struggle there will be, but the rewards will be truly yours to keep. The rewards, however, may not come in term of monetary but in the soft skill experience.

FP Response: Perseverance is tough when you are broke, hardship will come and help is not a short cut. Rewards may come in experience, but wouldn't it be nice if you made some $ off your investment, hardship & perseverance.

For this project, the inventor turned to academia for help building the business plan to raise $. However, what I have learned is that many inventors would like to turn to a licensing company like Big Idea Group and trade their idea for a royalty agreement (if they get picked). Flashpoint has moved a product through the Big Idea Group (although the inventor eventually backed out). This was several years ago and so I am researching this avenue thoroughly for a future blog post.
