Interns
Each summer, FlashPoint hires 3-4 interns. These are paid internships for 2 months. Ideally, we are looking for engineers that want to be involved in entrepreneurial endeavors. The slots are very competitive. Please send a resume and cover letter detailing your experience and what qualities make you unique. In our firm, you wear many hats. One day, you might be researching dog food - the next you might help with designing circuit logic. Flexibility and self-starting is a must.
In the Flashpoint Development internship program we focus capitalizing on your strengths and improving on your weaknesses based on your goals. You will be exposed to a network of seasoned experts in each of the key areas of product development and commercialization.
We are currently ooking for intern who has interest / experience in any of the following:
- Being an entrepreneur, project / product manager
- Engineering, product design, Solidworks (3D modeling), manufacturing, industrial design, prototyping
- Market research, packaging, branding, graphic design, logos (Adobe)
- Patents, Trademarks
- Writing, promotions, marketing
Must be deadline focused, excellent at time management and learn new concepts quickly.
- Flexible hours – Some early evenings
- 10-20 hours per week
- Paid position (based on experience)
Mechanical Engineer
Looking for a degreed Mechanical Engineer who has experience in project management, 3D CAD design (Solidworks). Must be especially adept at translating industrial design to complex shapes, injection molding design, integrating electronics, and design for manufacture and assembly. FlashPoint is a fast paced environment, where time management is key. Must be a quick learner, able to work in a virtual environment.
Electrical/Embedded Software Engineer
Looking for a degreed electrical and/or software engineer experienced in embedded design. Must be knowledge on multiple platforms (Android, C++, etc.) and able to create quick and dirty breadboard prototypes. Personal equipment (scopes, fabrication tools) is desired. You must be willing to create fast functioning prototypes, followed by quick iterations. Must be a quick learner, able to work in a virtual environment.
